As the consumer market adopts the benefits of CBD for Equines, Companion Animals and Human administration, it’s imperative that the selection of quality, correctly labeled and tested products are adhered to.

The internet provides access to a number of resellers and here are a few items to consider when looking at CBD based products:
Does the company communicate the specific strain of CBD their product is made of?
  • If not, they should be avoided as different strains and processing of CBD result in different results.
Is the exact dosage and CBD strain listed on product labels?
  • Anything ambiguous should be avoided
A fancy website does not imply product quality
Is the batch number listed on the product label and can you readily receive testing documentation?
  • If not, there’s no batch control and/or testing which is critical in the production and distribution of CBD based products.
Does the company readily provide access to testing documentation?
  • Multiple tests should be completed for each batch to demonstrate product ingredients, strength and lack of THC. Any company that states, “Random” Testing is not adhering to high quality standards and should be avoided.
Are the ingredients of the products grown, processed and manufacturing conducted in the United States?
  • Foreign companies manufacture CBD yet there’s no chain of command and/or documentation, in short; you don’t know what you’re receiving and/or administering.
Does the company offer storage instructions?
  • CBD of any kind should not be exposed to widely ranging temperature variations and large quantities should be in a light sensitive container.
As with any supplement, ensuring your product is what is stated and of a specific strength is imperative, please do the proper research required prior to making a purchase.
Happy CBD’ing
